DAAGYE HENDRICKS, INTERIM PRESIDENT

Daagye Hendricks has a history of service to Birmingham’s civic and business community. She served as the District 4 Board of Education Representative for Birmingham City Schools for eight years. Daagye has worked for Wee Care Academy Inc., a family business for over 25 years. Through her service with The Birmingham Pledge Foundation, Alabama Holocaust Education Center, Anytown Alabama, and The Birmingham Zoo Board of Directors, she aligns experience, purpose, and passion with community engagement.
Daagye is an effective relationship builder, collaborating with community stakeholders and financial institutions to strategically implement social responsibility programs throughout the State of Alabama. A graduate of Leadership Birmingham, she is committed to empowering and encouraging students and young professionals in emerging communities. Daagye obtained a BA in Finance from Clark Atlanta University and an Executive MBA from the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. She is the proud mother of Noah Harvill, a junior at Alabama A&M University, who also attended Anytown Alabama like his mother. Daagye is an experienced professional and leader in driving community development initiatives. Currently, she is the Associate Director of Annual Giving for the UAB Department of Advancement. She has experience in training, program development, and implementing major projects. Daagye has managed $500 million budgets and more than 2,400 employees. Her career span includes leadership in corporate and non-profit environments. |

Fanicy Sears, LMFT, LPC-S, serves as Board Secretary for ACE Alabama. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist and licensed professional counselor supervisor with extensive experience in clinical practice and community-centered mental health initiatives. Fanicy is currently pursuing her PhD in Biocultural Medical Anthropology at the University of Alabama. As an ACE Board member, she advances culturally responsive approaches within social and emotional learning (SEL) frameworks. She is committed to advancing equity, expanding cultural competency, and supporting transformative leadership development for youth and communities across Alabama. Fanicy and her two daughters are also Anytown Alabama Alumni..
