Applicants will be notified of their acceptance or waitlist status by April 21, 2023.
Cost: $450 - no applicant is turned away due to inability to pay.
Applicants must fill out BOTH the application and have their reference fill out the reference form.
What is Anytown?
Anytown Alabama is a week-long residential social justice leadership program for high school students. At Anytown Alabama, student delegates engage in typical summer camp activities and also develop leadership skills that they take back to their schools and communities. Student delegates spend a week participating in refreshingly open and supportive dialogue, forming life-long friendships, and sharing their cultures and beliefs while appreciating those of others. Students engage in intensive and interactive learning about social justice issues and leave Anytown empowered as leaders. Anytown is a fantastic opportunity for students who are currently in 9th – 11th grades to spend a week developing leadership skills and learning about social justice issues. Students make great friends, build their college resumes, and have a ton of fun!
Who should apply for Anytown?
ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS CURRENTLY IN GRADES 9-11 ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY!
Whether you are an established leader or a potential leader, we encourage you to apply. Anytown is seeking students of every race, school, religion, gender, sexual orientation, immigration status, and ability.
Cost
The fee for Anytown Alabama covers room, board and transportation. Scholarships are readily available. No applicant will be turned away because of inability to pay.
