The Life Skills Education program is a 9-month in-school program designed to give students in grade Kindergarten to 8th grade the social and emotional skills necessary to be successful in life. As a volunteer, you would facilitate our evidence-based SEL curriculum to a classroom of students, as well as attend a volunteer training beforehand.

Heritage Panel is a two-day training for middle and high school students designed to give students the skills to be able to make change in their schools when it comes to discrimination, prejudice, and bullying. As a volunteer, you would facilitate our two-day Heritage Panel for a group of 25-30 students and educators, as well as receive training beforehand.

PEACE Birmingham is a monthly social justice dialogue group in which teens of different faiths and cultures from the Metro Birmingham comes together to discuss ways to build community through attending cultural events and being involved in a peace project. Advisors attend meetings (one Sunday a month) to help guide the conversations and chaperone trips.

Anytown Alabama is a weeklong residential social justice teen leadership summit in which high school students are immersed in interactive social justice workshop throughout the week designed to give them the skills to be leaders in their communities. Anytown 2022 will be in June 2022. We are no longer accepting applications for this year, but check back January 1st, 2023 for Anytown 2023!
