LGBTQ+ Pride Month
Pride Month is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. The Stonewall Uprising was a tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States.
Part of Social-Emotional Learning is being able to understand and respect other perspectives, feelings, and the people around us. People in the LGBTQ+ community face discrimination constantly, and it's important to acknowledge the effects of that including, but not limited to, LGBTQ+ suicide rates.
